A sunrise scene again :) I think I'm obsessed with early hours of day as seen on "Morning Light" and "The Sunrise".
In this piece, I've focused on texturing. Unwrapping the UVW's, painting them and creating diffuse, specular, displacement and bumps maps was a real challenge for me but I've enjoyed a lot. The whole scene was done in 3 days (approximately 40 hours) using 3dsmax. I spent most of my time with unwrapping and texture painting in Photoshop.
I didn't play too much with the lighting and rendering setup because this is just a still image and I know I can easily tweak the scene in post-production. I've rendered two images, a direct and an indirect pass using Vray RC3 (that was doubled my render time but I wanted more control on shadow and highlights) then saved them 32bit format and edited with Fusion and also an occlusion and a reflection pass was blended with the main render.
At last, final touches, minor manupulations, framing and titles. are done using Photoshop
