Hakuei Residence
Hakuei Residence in Osaka was designed by Akira Sakamoto in 1996.
I don't know why but I love modern japanese architecture and always
admire their minimalist compositions. For this reasons, I decided
to recreate it and this one is an exactly "a tribute to Akira Sakamoto".
Scene was made using 3dsmax with a photo reference. (Link:

Modeling of the scene took half an hour but lighting and material editing took a whole day :)
Trying to create burning sunlight with reflective caustics coming from the top left and
blue environment from the bottom right side was a great challenge with Vray.
Rendering took approximately 5 hours at 1600 x 1100px but final output didn't
satisfy me too much so I rendered an occlusion pass with VrayDirt
and also "reflection" and "raw lighting" passes helped me a lot in post stages.
At last post production was completed using by After Effects.
